Windows XP How-To

Tips and Tweaks for Windows XP

© Michael Simpson

This is an index of different tips and tweaks for Windows XP. Just some little how-to's I've picked up over the years.

Windows XP is the predominant operating system run by most of my readers. For that reason I have really been focusing on how-to and tips articles designed mainly for this operating system.

Windows XP was the next generation of Microsoft's operating systems after Windows 2000. It is based on the same NT kernel as Windows 2000 and Windows NT.

The Difference

The big difference between Windows NT and Windows 2000/XP, as far as a home user would be concerned, is the ability to use USB devices in Windows 2000/XP. Windows NT has no native support for USB, and as far as I'm aware of, no one has ever created a third-party USB driver for it either.
