1. Love Hate Relationship with Windows
Windows is such an easy operating system to learn, and at the same time breaks down at crucial moments. It is the only operating system which would allow you to tweak things easily and alter the configuration settings just by following the menu instructions. The sad part is that it is not stable. It cannot be trusted like Linux.
2. Most Common OS
Windows is the most common operating system found in the world. Statistics indicate that 8 out of every 10 people use Windows/PC.
3. Most Number of Software Titles
Being the most common OS, many softwares are written for PCs. Every software has at least a dozen of competitors. Competition brings the best out of programming. Good competition is always healthy.
4. Updating is Simple
Compared to other systems, Windows is so much easier to update. All it takes would be a couple clicks and a restart of the computer. Any layman could read the options and decide his/her action.
5. Disliking IE
This might apply just to geeks and nerds. They just don't like IE since the rendering is not standard compliant with the rest of the web. A negative aspect of PCs is the shoving IE down the user's throat without an option of uninstallation. Non-geeks could feel the same way as well if they are educated on this topic.
6. Slow with the Increase of Programs Installed
This could be universal with all operating systems, but moreso with Windows. Windows slows down considerably with the installation of many programs, since these programs need to loaded at the startup. There is a tweak for this though, although not known to many PC users.
7. Cheap Hardware
Software is not the only advantage a PC has, but also hardware. PC hardware is much cheaper than Macs, and it is easily repairable or replaceable without much hassle. There are a lot of alternatives for a PC which once again gives a number of choices for the consumer.
8. Jealous towards Mac Looks
There is always a sense of jealousy towards Mac's looks. PCs have never been as attractive as Macs to look at or to use it. Windows has a lot of tweaks that try to make up for the looks but always falls short of glory.
9. Strong Community
PC community is unmatched with any other community. No matter what the problem, there is always a fix and the kudos always goes to the ever-driven community.
10. PC Rocks
There are some positive points listed and negative points as well. Whatever it is, PCs alway rock just because it is a PC. PC owners are very proud of their piece of equipment and this is the pride that carries them forward.
