Ever wondered what goes on inside a computer? Or maybe just wondered what computer to buy? Then you're in the right place.
It can be a daunting task to pick a computer when the time comes to go shopping. With the myriad of processors, hard drives, optical drives and different types of RAM it can get confusing. So I'm gonna give you the basics and then do some reviews of several diffent types of manufactured computers. Personally, I build my own systems from the ground up, mostly because I like to. There was a time when doing so would save $1000 or more. That is no longer the case. With the price drop in hardware and the proliferation of computer manufacturers it will usually cost more to build a system yourself than to buy one. But there is no way of describing the feeling of surfing the internet or playing your favorite game on a computer that you built with your own hands. Most of my geek friends (honestly, they are all geeks), have done the same thing and the sense of satisfaction is beyond words. So, how do you build your own system? Or more importantly, what is all that stuff that goes inside a computer that makes it run? I'm glad you asked. Here is a short list. Processor, memory, hard drive, motherboard, optical drive, floppy drive. Each has a different function. I promised to do a review at least once a week. You will find them listed here. For convenience I've seperated them by categories and given them thier own index page. PCs Home / Review Index / Laptop Reviews / Desktop Reviews / Hardware Reviews
